Lê Quang Liêm
GM - VIETNAMLê Quang Liêm (born 13 March 1991, in Ho-Chi-Minh City) is a Vietnamese chess grandmaster, the highest rated in his country's history. He received the FIDE Grandmaster title in 2006, at the age of 15. He became U14 World Champion in Belfort (France) in 2004. Liêm won the Asian Chess Championship in 2019 and was the World Blitz Chess Champion in 2013.
Le Queng Liem is ranked 16th in the world with an ELO of 2739 points and this will be his first participation in the Leon Magistral.
He has competed for the Vietnam team in the Chess Olympiad since 2006. His best result came in 2012, when he scored 8/10 points on board 1 and his team finished in seventh place, the highest ever for Vietnam.
Quang Liêm now lives in St. Louis, Missouri and is the head coach of the Webster University chess team.
