Faustino Oro (Buenos Aires, 14 October 2013) is a very young Argentinian chess player, based in Badalona, Spain. He currently holds the title of International Master, the youngest master in the history of chess.

Faustino Oro began playing chess during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Initially, he deepened his understanding of the game on his own, later studying with several masters and teachers.
He has led the world chess rankings in the under-8, under-10, under-11, and under-12 categories by a wide margin. In April 2023, he became the youngest FIDE Master in history.
In September 2023, at the age of nine, Oro became the youngest player to achieve an International Master norm after finishing as runner-up in the ITT tournament, the Comodoro Rivadavia City Cup. On June 30, 2024, Faustino Oro achieved his third IM norm and a FIDE Elo rating of 2400, becoming the youngest International Master in history at 10 years, 8 months, and 16 days, surpassing the record previously held by Abhimanyu Mishra.
Currently, Oro lives in Spain with his parents, seeking the best opportunities for his current and future chess career. He plays in tournaments representing his native Argentina. In the 2025 Magistral tournament, he made an extraordinary impression, coming very close to defeating ANAND, and his charisma and excellent communication skills, despite his young age, delighted the audience. At 12 years old, he will remain the youngest participant in the history of the Magistral de León.
