Faustino Oro (Buenos Aires, 14 October 2013) is a very young Argentinian chess player, based in Badalona, Spain. He currently holds the title of International Master, the youngest master in the history of chess.

At the age of 11 he will be the youngest participant in the history of the Magistral de León.

Faustino Oro started playing chess during the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially he studied the game in a self-taught manner, later passing through the hands of various masters and teachers.

He has topped the world chess rankings in U-8, U-10, U-11 and U-12 categories by a wide margin. In April 2023 he became the youngest ever FIDE Master.

In September 2023, at the age of nine, Oro became the youngest ever to earn an international Master rating after finishing runner-up in the ITT Copa Ciudad de Comodoro Rivadavia tournament.

On 30 June 2024, Faustino Oro achieved his third IM norm and 2400 FIDE Elo points, becoming the youngest International Master in history at the age of 10 years, 8 months and 16 days, beating the record previously held by Abhimanyu Mishra.

Oro currently resides in Spain with his parents, seeking to take advantage of the best opportunities for his current and future chess career. He plays the tournaments on behalf of his native Argentina.
